wherein said peptide or peptide derivative has procoagulant activity. A peptide or peptide derivative comprising:
(i) an amino acid sequence comprising imfwydcye; or
(ii) a variant amino acid sequence comprising one, two, three, four, five or six amino acid substitutions in imfwydcye,
