PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-propelled type vacuum cleaner capable of preventing the interruption of a cleaning work when a side brush is caught.SOLUTION: A self-propelled vacuum cleaner includes: a housing body having a suction port in the bottom surface and capable of performing self-propelling; and rotatable side brushes arranged on the sides of the suction port in the bottom surface of the housing body. Each side brush includes: a rotary brush base; and brush bundles implanted in the brush base and having tips in contact with a floor surface. The housing body has side projection parts arranged on the front side of the side brushes in the bottom surface and projected downward so as to be in contact with the brush bundles. The above configuration allows the middle part of each side brush to be bent so as to be nearly in parallel with the vertical axis by sliding contact to move over the side projection part during the rotation of the side brush, and cancels the bending of the middle part after moving over the side projection part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
