PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly control each operation in an ink jet printer according to a secular change of the ink.SOLUTION: An ink jet printer uses an ink jet head 21 having a nozzle for discharging ink to form images on paper and includes: an ink cartridge 24 which is provided so as to be attached to/detached from the ink jet printer, stores the ink supplied to the ink jet printer, and retains aging information regarding the time course of the stored ink after manufacturing; and a discharge control part 312 which obtains the aging information retained by the ink cartridge 24 attached to the ink jet printer and controls ink discharge operation in the ink jet head 21 on the basis of the obtained aging information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
