An optical fiber backlight module and a liquid crystal display. The optical fiber backlight module (1) comprises a back plate (11), red, green and blue LED light sources (161, 162, 163) arranged at the side edge of the back plate in sequence, a plurality of groups of optical fibers (13) arranged on the back plate and prismatic lenses (14) arranged on the plurality of groups of optical fibers; a plurality of grooves (111) arranged in parallel and distributed at equal intervals is arranged on the back plate, the plurality of groups of optical fibers is respectively fixed into the plurality of grooves, each group of optical fibers comprises red, green and blue light guide optical fibers (131, 132, 133), and the red, green and blue light guide optical fibers are respectively connected to the red, green and blue LED light sources through couplers (15), thereby being able to provide area light sources having three primary colors of red, green and blue for a liquid crystal panel (2), enabling the crystal display panel to realize color display without a color filter film, being able to increase the penetration rate of light, and increasing the color saturation of the liquid crystal display. |
