摘要 In the present invention, a reversing rolling mill (1) is provided with: an edger (2) having a pair of vertical rollers that conduct width rolling on a material (5) to be rolled disposed on a rolling line; and a pair of horizontal rollers that are provided downstream of the vertical rollers and that conduct horizontal rolling on the material (5) to be rolled. The reversing rolling mill (1) conducts width rolling and horizontal rolling in both the forward pass and the reverse pass. The front-rear end plate width control device (21) is provided with a reverse-pass allocation ratio calculating means (18), an edger forward-pass front-rear end open-level change pattern correcting means (19), and an edger front-rear end open-level controlling means (17). The reverse-pass allocation ratio calculating means (18) calculates a reverse-pass allocation ratio by dividing the width reduction amount in the reverse pass by the width reduction amount in the next forward pass. The edger forward-pass front-rear end open-level change pattern correcting means (19) corrects an edger forward pass front-rear end open-level change pattern on the basis of the reverse-pass allocation ratio. The edger front-rear end open-level controlling means (17) controls a roller gap of the edger (2) on the basis of the corrected edger forward-pass front-rear end open-level change pattern.
