PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can detect a toner near-end condition with high accuracy in an appropriate time close to a toner end condition without disposing a new sensor or the like, and that can execute a predetermined attention attracting operation.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a photosensitive drum 61; a developing unit 70 that includes a developer container 71 accommodating a developer comprising a toner and develops an electrostatic image formed on the photosensitive drum 61 with the toner; a toner amount detection sensor 78 that detects a toner amount accommodated in the developer container 71; a toner supply unit 89 that can supply a toner from a toner bottle 80 accommodating the toner to the developer container 71; and a control unit 50 that operates the toner supply unit 89 and controls a supply amount of the toner to the developer container 71 based on the toner amount detected by at least the toner amount detection sensor 78. The control unit 50 executes a predetermined attention attracting operation based on a ratio of a value relating to an integrated value of image information to a value relating an operation amount of the toner replenishing unit 89.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
