PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a defect in display occurring when a display surface is pressed.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display 10 comprises: first and second substrates 31 and 32 that are arranged opposite to each other; a liquid crystal layer 33 that is held between the first and second substrates 31 and 32 and has a vertical alignment (VA) mode; an electrode 38 that is provided on the first substrate 31 and extends in a first direction; first and second pixel electrodes 42-1 and 42-2 that are provided in one pixel area and above the electrode 38 with an insulating layer 39 therebetween, and arranged side by side in the first direction; a first contact part 43-1 that connects the electrode 38 to the first pixel electrode 42-1; a second contact part 43-2 that connects the electrode 38 to the second pixel electrode 42-2; and a common electrode 47 that is provided on the second substrate 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
