When in the unloaded pressureless condition and mounted onto a rim, the tire adopts a different shape to the equilibrium figure. Carcass (6) length between the connecting point (A) to the breaker layer (2) and the connecting point (B) to the rim (10), is shorter than the theoretical carcass length between both points which corresponds to a straightening out of the carcass.
