The invention relates to a communication system for improving the medical treatment of a patient (4) at least in one place of care (1) by communicating with specialists (17) in a specialist centre (2). The system at the place of care (1) comprises means (6,7) for capturing patient data, means (7,9) for inputting data by a person (s) dispensing said treatment (5) and means (8,9) for outputting data received from the specialist centre (2). The system in the specialist centre (2) comprises at least means (11,12,13) for outputting data received from the place of care (1), means (14) for inputting data by specialists (17) and means (3,16) for bi-directional transmission of data to the place of care (1). According to the invention, specialists (17) in the specialist centre (2) can diagnose the state of health of a patient (4) at the place of care (1) in virtually real time using data received from the place of care (1) and can establish at least one proposal for therapy on the basis of said diagnosis, said proposal being transmitted to the person(s) treating the patient (4). The invention also relates to a method for improving medical treatment of a patient (4) at least in one place of care (2) by communication with specialists (17) in a specialist centre (2). |
