CHARGE PUMP AND CONTROL SCHEME

A switch controller (1) has a charge pump (8), a selector switch (5) connected to the charge pump (8), and a pre-charge power supply input (7) connectable to the input of the selector switch (5). For each of the output channels (2, 3, 4) being controlled, a power control switch (26) is connected to an output of the selector switch (2, 3, 4). In response to commands, output channels (2, 3, 4) are enabled and disabled, causing corresponding actions in the power control switches (26). When an output channel (2, 3, 4) is to be activated, the output channel (2, 3, 4) is selected by the selector switch (5) and the pre-charge power supply (7) connected to the input of the selector switch (5). The charging is completed by the charge pump (8) and the enabled status of the power control switch (26) is maintained by the charge pump (8).
