PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically conduct evaluation fit to feeling of the human being, and to inspect an optical flare with high reproducibility and efficiency, in an optical flare inspection device. SOLUTION: Imaged data are read in an image reader 8 as a projection real image 9 separated into R, G, B components. An image processor 10 is connected further to image-process properly the imaged data and to inspect the flare. An appearance frequency distribution of brightness of each picture element in the projection image 9 is prepared in a flare detection/classification part 22 in the image processor 10, an inherent light emitting area and the flare are identified based on a result therein, and quantitative determination data are further prepared.
