PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starting device capable of dispensing with arrangement of a set block for connecting a drive plate of an engine and a cover part. SOLUTION: The drive plate 4 is fixed on an output shaft 3 of the engine. The starting device 1<SB>1</SB>is provided with a cover 2<SB>1</SB>storing a torque converter 10, a lock-up clutch 30 and a damper device 40, and maintaining them oil-tightly, and functioning as a rotation input member of the torque converter 10 and the lock-up clutch 30. The cover 2<SB>1</SB>is constituted of a front cover 11 and a rear cover 12, a cylindrical part 12d is provided on the rear cover 12 and is extended to the engine side so that the rear cover 12 is connected to the front cover 11, an extended part 12a is integrally extended to the outer peripheral side than a connection part 2A, and the extended part 12a is connected to the drive plate 4.
