PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the physically handicapped in finger and, the aged with weak grasping power, or the like to easily open a swing door D, while avoiding the swing door D opening due to the inadvertent release of a latch 26 by a handle part 41. SOLUTION: This door handle device 14 for the sing door D is provided with handle parts 41 with operating force acting surfaces 47 to which operating force is applied downward substantially perpendicular to the moving direction of a door panel 10. The handle parts 41 are provided on the front face side and rear face side of the door panel 10 movably in the operating direction, and the latch 26 is switched into a lock release state when the handle part 41 moves into a latch release position.
