PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insertion paper used to be inserted between the glass plates for a display, preventing the deposition of paper dust caused by electrostatic charge and the generation of the damage and stain of the glass plate and also usable for a glass substrate having a functional membrane, and to provide a method for producing the insertion paper. SOLUTION: The insertion paper for display glass plates has≥50 mass% of bleached chemical pulp and contains a compound selected from 2-6C polyhydric alcohols, addition products obtained by adding 2-4C alkylene oxides to 2-6C polyhydric alcohols, addition products obtained by adding 2-4C alkylene oxides to 1-4C monohydric alcohols, and water-soluble polyether-modified silicones having a polyoxyalkylene skeleton and an HLB of≥8. There is further provided a method for producing the insertion paper for display glass plates including the addition and deposition of the above compound during the paper-making process or to the produced paper.
