PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pre-heat uniformly in a main scanning direction near printing heaters.SOLUTION: A thermal print head includes printing heaters 31 and pre-heating heaters 32. The printing heaters 31 and pre-heating heaters 32 are formed on the surface of an insulated board made by welding a glaze layer 34 to the surface of a ceramic substrate. The printing heaters 31 form a plurality of pixels arranged at intervals in a main scanning direction. From ends of the printing heaters 31, printing electrodes 38 extend in a subscanning direction. The pre-heating heaters 32 are disposed at a position which is closer to the upstream side than the printing heaters 31 in the subscanning direction and at which at least part of the pre-heating heaters 32 is held between the printing electrodes 38. From ends of the pre-heating heaters 32, pre-heating electrodes 39 extend in the subscanning direction. |
