A high index contrast waveguide device is disclosed and described. In one embodiment the waveguide may include a lithium niobate substrate, a waveguide with a higher refractive index than that of the lithium niobate substrate patterned on a surface thereof, and an electrode electrically coupled to the waveguide. The device may form part of a system for sensing an electric field. |
