PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration cutting machine and a vibration cutting method capable of performing vibration cutting without using any dedicated vibration generation mechanism while obtaining a desired vibration wave form.SOLUTION: The vibration cutting machine 1 includes: a machine tool 10 that performs cutting work on a work piece using a tool; and a controller 20 that controls the machine tool 10. The machine tool 10 has a Z-axis drive mechanism 13 which is controlled by the controller 20 to cause the tool make a relative movement with respect to the work piece. A Z-axis control unit 23 which controls the Z-axis drive mechanism 13 has a position feedback. The controller 20 has a vibration control unit 40 that superimposes a vibration wave form signal on the position feedback to cause the tool to vibrate with respect to the work piece.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
