PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virtual machine management system which can monitor whether there is a failure caused by a defect of hardware of a virtual machine to detect the failure of the virtual machine timely and can automatically perform an appropriate measure for removing the failure on the virtual machine.SOLUTION: An administrative server 14 individually monitors whether there are various kinds of failures caused by a defect of hardware of virtual machines 12-12used for user sites 13-13, for each of the virtual machines 12-12. When the failure caused by the defect of the hardware is determined to be present in the virtual machines 12-12, the administrative server selects at least one of measures for removing the failure to perform the selected measure on the virtual machines 12-12having the failure, while specifying the type of the failure caused by the defect of the hardware.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
