PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-water-absorption polyester resin having characteristics, including high heat resistance and a high refractive index.SOLUTION: At least terminal hydroxy groups of a polyester resin containing diol components including a dihydroxy compound having a 9,9-bis(hydroxy(poly)alkoxyaryl)fluorene skeleton and dicarboxylic acid components as polymerization components are blocked with a monocarboxylic acid component, e.g. an aromatic monocarboxylic acid component. The diol components may contain a linear aliphatic diol, e.g. an alkanediol, additionally. |
