PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display unit for a vehicle capable of eliminating waste of display and improving reduction of electric power consumption and visibility of the display to a driver. SOLUTION: This display unit for the vehicle to display a display part 6b to show to the side of a driver's seat and a display part 6a to show to the side of an assistant driver's seat in dual view by dividing a field of view by a parallax barrier 22 by interlacing it by one LCD 21 is furnished with an occupant detection sensor to detect existence of an occupant at the assistant driver's seat and a control part 1 to put off the second display when there is no occupant at the assistant driver's seat.
