<p>An HMT apparatus (<Bold>T</Bold>) is mounted on a vehicle (<Bold>A</Bold>). In the HMT apparatus (<Bold>T</Bold>), input rotational force from an engine (<Bold>13</Bold>) is once divided into two systems which are then transmitted by an MT device (<Bold>23</Bold>) and by an HST device (<Bold>24</Bold>) respectively and are re-synthesized for transfer toward wheels (<Bold>12</Bold>) and (<Bold>16</Bold>). The HMT apparatus (<Bold>T</Bold>) is disposed on the vehicle-body right side of the engine (<Bold>13</Bold>) which is sideways-mounted on a vehicle body (<Bold>1</Bold>), and its input and output shafts (<Bold>25</Bold>) and (<Bold>26</Bold>) are disposed in parallel with a crank shaft (<Bold>13a</Bold>) of the engine (<Bold>13</Bold>) and are disposed to run parallel with each other. The input shaft (<Bold>25</Bold>) is coupled directly to the crank shaft (<Bold>13a</Bold>) and an input gear (<Bold>27</Bold>) of the MT device (<Bold>23</Bold>) is mounted on the input shaft (<Bold>25</Bold>), and a hydraulic piston pump (<Bold>30</Bold>) of the HST device (<Bold>24</Bold>) is connected to the right side end of the input shaft (<Bold>25</Bold>). A planetary gear mechanism (<Bold>28</Bold>) of the MT device (<Bold>23</Bold>) is connected to the right side end of the output shaft (<Bold>26</Bold>), and a hydraulic piston motor (<Bold>31</Bold>) of the HST device (<Bold>24</Bold>) is connected to the right side of the planetary gear mechanism (<Bold>28</Bold>). By virtue of such arrangement, it is possible to improve the degree of freedom of the layout of each component of the HMT apparatus (<Bold>T</Bold>), to reduce axial dimensions, and further to provide improvement in the cooling property and maintenance property of the section of the HST device (<Bold>24</Bold>). The casing (<Bold>81</Bold>) of the HST is a separate structure of the HMT casing (<Bold>80</Bold>) and this makes it possible to easily remove it from the HMT apparatus (<Bold>T</Bold>).</p> |
