PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To favorably prevent the twining of a looper thread. SOLUTION: This sewing machine includes a lower shaft 2, a looper operatively connected with the rotation of the lower shaft and swinging, two threading parts 11 and 12, two thread control cams 13 and 14 provided in the lower shaft 2 to bring the looper thread L laid across the two threading parts 11 and 12 into slide contact with their outer circumferential parts, and a thread guide member 15 provided between the two thread control cams 13 and 14, reciprocating the looper thread L coming into slide contact with the thread control cams 13 and 14 along a fixed route and having a long hole part 15a, wherein a notch 15b is formed in an inner edge part 15d on the lower shaft side of the long hole part 15a of the thread guide member 15.
