The device has a coating module transferring imaging layers of a bearing foil on a printing paper. The module contains an impression cylinder (4) and a pressing roller (3), which together form a combined transfer crack (6). A transfer foil (5), provided in the area of a foil routing device for guiding the transfer foil to a transfer crack, is attached with a device for application of the layers and/or information containing imprints. An independent claim is also included for method for coating of printed sheets in a sheet of paper processing machine.
