<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch panel and display device improved in durability, sensitivity, linearity and accuracy, and allowing signals to be input at many points. <P>SOLUTION: In this touch panel equipped with a first electrode plate and a second electrode plate, the first electrode plate comprises a first substrate, a plurality of first transparent electrodes installed on one surface of the first substrate at intervals along a first direction, and a plurality of first signal lines electrically connected to the plurality of first transparent electrodes, respectively. The second electrode plate comprises a second substrate, a plurality of second transparent electrodes installed on one surface of the second substrate at intervals along a second direction, and a plurality of second signal lines electrically connected to the plurality of second transparent electrodes, respectively.
