PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately grasp a delay time and delay fluctuation of a packet while avoiding bandwidth pressure and to measure a delay distribution of the packet.SOLUTION: A delay measurement method for measuring a delay time of a packet transferred via a packet exchange network between a transmission side NE and a reception side NE where time synchronization is established grants a sequence number to the packet. With a packet of a prescribed sequence number as a reference packet, the transmission side NE measures a transmission time of day of the reference packet and difference in transmission time between packets to be transmitted after the reference packet. The reception side NE measures a reception time of day of the reference packet and difference in reception time between packets to receive after the reference packet, calculates a delay time of the reference packet from the transmission time of day and reception time of day of the reference packet, and sequentially calculates delay time of each packet from the transmission time difference and reception time difference of the packet to follow the reference packet of the prescribed sequence number. |
