A baffle insert (108; 208; 308; 408) for an airfoil, comprising: a first baffle body (108) extending from a first end to a second end along a longitudinal axis, wherein the first baffle body includes a pair of opposing flanges. A vane (100; 200; 300; 400) includes a vane body (102; 202; 302; 402) extending from a root (104) to an opposed tip (106) along a longitudinal axis (A) and first (108; 208; 308; 408) and second (110; 210; 310; 410) baffle bodies. The vane body defines a leading edge (105) and a trailing edge (107), and a cavity (112) defined between the leading edge, the trailing edge, the root and the tip. The vane body includes at least one vane rib (114) defined between the leading edge and the trailing edge inside the cavity. The first baffle body is defined in one of a leading edge portion and a trailing edge portion of the cavity. The second baffle body is defined in a middle portion of the cavity. A corresponding method of manufacturing a vane is also provided. |
