A method of making a compound of formula (I): the method comprising cyclizing a compound of formula (II) to make a compound of formula (V) and reducing the compound of formula (V) to make the compound of formula (I), wherein R1 and R2 are each independently selected from H, OH, NH2, C1-6 alkyl or aryl; R3 is H, C1-6 alkyl or aryl; Y is halo; and X is Na, K, Mg or Ca.
