PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring composition for a color filter containing a boron compound salt, and a color filter using the same having excellent heat resistance.SOLUTION: Provided are a coloring composition for a color filter containing a boron compound salt represented by the general formula (A), and a color filter using the composition. The boron compound salt represented by the general formula (A) is yellow and excellent in heat resistance. Therefore, use of the coloring composition for the color filter containing the boron compound salt as a coloring pigment can provide a color filter excellent in heat resistance.
