APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CALCULATING BATTERY RESIDUAL CAPACITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate residual capacity accurately even if full charge capacity decreases due to a fault of a battery.SOLUTION: A battery residual capacity calculation apparatus includes: current detection means 6 for detecting charge/discharge current of a battery 1; voltage detection means 7 for detecting a terminal voltage of the battery 1; first residual capacity calculation means 100 for calculating first residual capacity on the basis of an integrated value of the charge/discharge current of the battery 1; second residual capacity calculation means 101 for calculating second residual capacity on the basis of an open-circuit voltage of the battery 1; blend ratio setting means 103 that decides a blend ratio of the second residual capacity, according to deviation between the first and second residual capacities; third residual capacity calculation means 104 that calculates synthesized residual capacity obtained by weight-synthesizing the first residual capacity with the second residual capacity by use of the blend ratio. The blend ratio setting means 103 sets a larger blend ratio as the deviation between the first residual capacity and the second residual capacity is larger.
