A water side natural cooling system, comprising an air-conditioning terminal (11), configured to produce cold wind based on chilled water; a cooling tower (12) and a plate heat exchanger (13), configured to cool the chilled water conveyed to the air-conditioning terminal (11) when an outdoor ambient temperature is lower than a preset temperature; a water supply unit (14), configured to convey the chilled water into the air-conditioning terminal (11) when the outdoor ambient temperature is higher than the preset temperature, wherein tap water is used as the chilled water; and a cooling device, configured to cool the tap water when the tap water cannot meet a temperature requirement of the chilled water, and obtain, based on the cooled tap water, the chilled water conveyed to the air-conditioning terminal (11).
