PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium air secondary battery having an excellent cycle characteristic.SOLUTION: A lithium air secondary battery comprises a positive electrode including a carbon, a catalyst and a binder, and a negative electrode including a substance capable of occluding and emitting metallic lithium or lithium ions. One face of the positive electrode is in contact with air, and the other face of the positive electrode is in contact with a nonaqueous electrolyte. The nonaqueous electrolyte is arranged between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The catalyst is formed of a mixture of manganese oxide and ruthenium oxide.
