PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode active material which makes it possible to exhibit superior battery characteristics, e.g. an electric capacity and high-rate charge and discharge characteristics.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an electrode active material comprises the steps of: mixing a material including a lithium titanium compound having a spinel type crystalline structure, and a material including a titanium compound expressed by (Formula 1) and having a one-dimensional tunnel structure into a mixture; and subsequently, baking the mixture at a temperature of 150-400°C. (Formula 1) H2-XAXTinO2n+1 (where A represents an alkali metal; X is a real number satisfying 0≤X≤2; and n is an integer satisfying n≥6). |
