PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high viscosity PAO extremely less in a part which is a high molecular weight molecule and having extremely high shear stability.SOLUTION: A polyalphaolefin polymer having kinetic viscosity of 135 cSt or more at 100°C has shear stability. A polymer having molecular weight of over 60,000 dalton contained in the polymer is 0.5 wt.% or less or kinetic viscosity reduction of the polymer after conducting a conical roller bearing test for 20 hours of less than 9%. Such polyalphaolefin having shear stability is obtained by one of mechanical decomposition of high viscosity polyalphaolefin or selective catalyst system used for oligomerization or polymerization of feed stock.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
