PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion control device capable of performing an EGR control showing a high determination accuracy and superior to an instant responsiveness.SOLUTION: At each of ignition cycles, this invention has: a first processing for calculating an integrated value SUM of detected signals of ion current, a second processing [ST2] for specifying a determination time difference τ from an ignition timing at 10% position in respect to the integrated value SUM; a third processing [ST3] for specifying a difference value Δ between the present determination time difference τ and a previous time difference value Δ'; a fourth processing [ST6] for specifying a determination parameter Δ/τ on the basis of the present difference value Δ and the previous difference value Δ' [ST4], and as required, determining EGR value of a next time ignition cycle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
