<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nut capable of suppressing abnormal noise occurrence during playing and to provide a stringed instrument. <P>SOLUTION: Strings of the stringed instrument are supported by bridges, which are fixed to a an instrument body, and a nut fixed to a neck 12 in a manner that tension is applied between the bridge and the nut 18. The nut 18 includes pressing members 24 as locking members and adjustment screws 25. The pressing members 24 press the strings against the nut surface 21 so that the strings are prevented from moving. A projection 31 projecting toward the strings is formed on an end portion situated on the bride side of the nut 18. The strings are supported by the nut 18 with the projection 31 as a fulcrum and the critical contact point to support the strings exists on the surface of the projection 31. Therefore, the liberation of the strings from the projection 31 does not occur and the vibration is stabilized to prevent the interference of the nut 18 and the locking members and the abnormal noise generation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
