<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission type screen of which the angle of view can be spread in a vertical direction, and a rear projection television mounted with the transmission type screen. <P>SOLUTION: The transmission type screen includes a liquid crystal MLA 32 having a 1st substrate 41, a 2nd substrate 42 and a liquid crystal 43 held between the 1st substrate 41 and the 2nd substrate 42. When receiving a angle-of-view changing signal, the liquid crystal 43 undergoes a change in the equipotential distribution and a change in the refractive index according to a position. The angle of view in the vertical direction of the transmission type screen 3 is changed because transmitted light is influenced by the change in the refractive index of the liquid crystal 43. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
