<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission apparatus of a ring network and a band guarantee method thereof for guaranteeing a maximum band in the unit of VPN groups and preferentially guaranteeing a maximum band for a group with high priority between the VPN groups. <P>SOLUTION: Reception cell counters 1-3 monitor the number of packets (cells) received from a transmission line and the number of packets addressed to its own group. Further, a packet inflow monitor section 1-15 monitors a transmission packet from a terminal accommodated in its own node. An available maximum band is preset for each VPN group. The transmission apparatus applies flow control to terminals accommodated in its own node so that the number of packets addressed to its own group received from the transmission line does not exceed the maximum band and releases the flow control when a free band takes place in bands of its own group. Moreover, nodes of a VPN group with high priority instruct nodes of groups of low priority to execute the flow control when the band of the transmission line approaches the maximum band. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
