A driving device of an LCD and a driving method thereof are provided to detect an abnormal voltage of the LCD and restore the same to improve reliability of the LCD. A gate driving unit(400) generates a gate signal by combining a gate on voltage and a gate off voltage. A gradation voltage generating unit(800) generates a plurality of gradation voltages by using a power voltage. A signal control unit(600) controls the gate driving unit and the gradation voltage generating unit. A detection unit is connected to the signal control unit. When the gate on voltage, the gate off voltage and the power voltage are driving voltages, the detection unit detects abnormality of the driving voltage. The detection unit detects the abnormality of the driving voltage on the basis of an input voltage and a ground voltage. |
