A problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide an electronic device and drive control method which are capable of providing a desirable tactile sensation. Provided is an electronic device, comprising: a display unit; a top panel which is rectangular in plan view, is positioned on a display surface side of the display unit, and has a manipulation surface; a coordinate detecting unit which detects coordinates of a manipulation input which is carried out upon the manipulation surface; a first vibration element which is disposed along one side of the top panel, and which causes the manipulation surface to vibrate; a second vibration element which is positioned along the one side of the top panel or along an opposite side which is opposite the one side, and which causes the manipulation surface to vibrate; and a drive control unit which, when the manipulation input is carried out upon the manipulation surface, drives the first vibration element with a first drive signal which causes the manipulation surface to emit a natural ultrasonic vibration, and drives the second vibration element with a second drive signal which causes the manipulation surface to emit a natural ultrasonic vibration. A first phase of the first drive signal differs from a second phase of the second drive signal. |
