A method and apparatus for calculating node availability for a wireless mesh network is disclosed. The method for calculating node availability for a wireless mesh network, proposed in the present invention, may comprise the steps of: calculating a machine availability value at a wireless mesh node; calculating a link availability value at the wireless mesh node; calculating a path availability value at the wireless mesh node; and calculating node availability at the wireless mesh node using an availability value for each layer, which includes the machine availability value, the link availability value, and the path availability value.
