PURPOSE: An device and method for image contour revision of a is provided to maximize the image quality by revising the image contour delicately according to the power spectrum level and a saturation degree of color and brightness of color signals, Red, Green and Blue. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises an A/D transistor(11) in which the analog signal Y, U, and V transfers into digital signal; a RGB transferring part (12) which transfers the output of the A/D transistor into R,G,B signal; a first D/A transistor(14) which transfer the output of the RGB transferring part into analog signal so that it can be displayed in the CPT; a brightness transferring part(15) in which the output of the RGB transferring part into brightness level; a revision computation occurrence part(16) in which the contour revision computation is made; a color saturation degree transferring part in which the output of the RGB transferring part is transferred into color saturation degree; an image contour emphasizing part which outputs the contour emphasizing signal and a second D/A transistor.
