<p>A phenol is oxidatively polymerized in an aromatic compound solvent in the presence of a copper compound and an amine to produce a polyphenylene ether resin, during which the aromatic compound solvent, the amine forming an azeotropic mixture together with water, and the methanol used for precipitating polyphenylene ether particles and for washing the particles are efficiently separated and recovered.</p> |
