PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound recording device that records no operation noise when sound recording is started, paused, or stopped, is securely and easily operated, can suppress the number of components small, and never becomes large in size in totality of the device. SOLUTION: A sound from a microphone 2 is converted into audio data, which are sent to a buffer memory 7 through an amplifier 3, an A/D converter 4, and a DSP 5 and held. A control means 6 performs control to record, in a recording medium 13, only a portion of the audio data held in the buffer memory 7 excluding audio data corresponding to a set length of 300 milliseconds from the beginning of the audio data and audio data traced back by a set length of 300 milliseconds from the ending of the audio data.
