PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarming device for a riding type rice transplanter for preventing operation of the transplanter from going over a levee, when the transplanter body weight is of posterior balance. SOLUTION: The riding rice transplanter is provided with a clutch for transmitting driving power to wheels 1, 2 of a traveling vehicle body 3, in a disconnectable manner and operable from the front side of the machine by getting off the vehicle; a planting machine 6 connected to the back of the traveling body 3 and having a seedling tray 4; and a ground operation tool 19 placed at the front part of the traveling body 3 and operable from the outside of the body 3 for pushing down the front part of the body 3. For the riding rice transplanter, there are further provided a seedling detector 57 for detecting the presence or the quantity of seedlings on the seedling tray 4; an operation detector 58 for detecting the preliminary operation to enable operation of the ground operation tool 19, and alarming devices 14, 61 for issuing alarm about the presence of seedling or a quantity of seedlings that exceeds a prescribed level on the seedling tray 4, based on the detection operation by the seedling detector 57 and the operation detector 58.
