Control cycle for controlling a combustion process

The loop has an observation device (5) imaging a flame and a set of sensors (7) for determining input data. An adjustment device (9) controlled by output data adjusts supply of material and oxygen. A computer (11) evaluates the input data with regard to target values and determines the output data by using a current process model. The computer has a feature extraction module for extracting features from the input data by an information measure. The features are informative for the target values and an alternative process model. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for preparing a process model for a control loop for regulating a combustion process in a plant (2) a computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions.
