<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency receiver which can carry out noise cancellation in a short time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The receiver includes: antennas 147, 151, 153 for picking-up which respectively extract noise signals from a plurality of noise signal sources; a switch 135 which selects one signal out of noise signals for picking-up which are extracted by the plurality of the antennas 147, 151, 153 for picking-up; and a noise cancellation unit 123 which is inserted between an input terminal 103a and a tuner unit 125, and can carry out noise cancellation of the noise signal from the input terminal 103a by the noise signal for picking-up: and the receiver selects the noise signal for picking-up by the switch 135 according to a viewing and listening condition at a time of television receiving, and supplies it to the noise cancellation unit 123.
