PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a hydrogen separator, capable of reducing the occurrence of pin holes in a hydrogen separation metal layer.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a hydrogen separator includes: a first step of mixing Pd being a hydrogen separation metal, or metal powder containing the Pd and a metal (e.g., Ag) alloyed with the Pd for improving a hydrogen permeability as the main component with ceramics (e.g., YSZ) powder to make past-like materials; a second step of forming a surface forming layer (77) on support molded body (73) by covering the surface of the porous support molded body (73) before sintering using the past-like materials; and a third step of co-firing the support molded body (73) with the surface forming layer (77), and performing the sintering thereof. Consequently, a porous medium (20) comprising the hydrogen separation metal layer (19) inside is made. |
