<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical submarine repeater which enhances productivity and maintainability as a mounting construction and will not have an optical fiber pass over electronic components, and efficiently radiates heat generated by an LD(laser diode) to the outside of a circuit unit. SOLUTION: This optical submarine repeater is composed by housing a circuit unit formed by stacking a plurality of subunits, inside a cylindrical pressure box with a radiating/cushioning substance in-between. After at least LDs 9 and PDs(photodiodes) 10 from among optical components are mounted on one surface of a mounting portion 8b inside a chassis 8 made of metal and are provided with a cylindrical part 8a, the mounting portion 8b, having two mounting surfaces linked to this cylindrical portion 8a and a redundant fiber housing portion 8c formed on the one surface of this mounting portion 8b, an electrical circuit board 12 on which electrical components are mounted, is arranged on the chassis 8 and the subunits 7 is obtained.</p> |
