PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add or to correlate attribute information on an object displayed in the image to the data of a moving picture in television broadcasting, a video tape and the like. SOLUTION: In some cases, a user watching a movie wants to know the manufacture's name or the like of a bag which an actor has. In this case, the user displaces a cursor onto the bag and specifies its position. Then, an object detecting means 46 detects the object (the bag in this case) in the position. Next, an attribute information extracting means 48 extracts attribute information of the detected object from a recording medium 30. Then, an attribute information output means 50 provides a small window 60 on the screen, and displays attribute information in the window. The manufacture's name, a model number of the bag or the like can be displayed as attribute information, and thus the user can watch the movie more interestingly and pleasantly, and the dealer of the bag can perform an excellent advertisement of its own bag.
