PURPOSE: To provide a waveform generator of small circuit scale which can operate depending on any one of a plurality of band limit characteristics. CONSTITUTION: The waveform generator comprises a waveform generating means 2 for generating a waveform signal subjected to band limitation by first band limit characteristics depending on an input signal sequence a memory means 1 prestored with the difference signal between a waveform signal subjected to band limitation by first band limit characteristics for the input signal sequence and a waveform signal subjected to band limitation by second band limit characteristics for the input signal sequence, and outputting the difference signal depending on the input signal sequence means 6 for summing a waveform signal from the waveform generating means 2 and a difference signal from the memory means 1, and outputting a waveform signal subjected to band limitation by second band limit characteristics and a switch means 5 for outputting any one of a waveform signal from the waveform generating means 2 or a waveform signal from the summing means 6 selectively.
